My Actifit Report Card: September 12 2024 NHB Jog #6: Woodcrest Park

in Actifit2 months ago (edited)

Encountered some suggestive Red Eared Slider Graffiti while on the trail today. Interesting to note, these are actually an invasive species here in Texas. I used to own one but he was donated and likely basking in the luxury of a homemade pond and not competing with the local wildlife.

Unfortunately, I missed the opportunity to post my last run which was on post at Randolph Air Force Base at the Heritage Memorial Park. Guess we'll make this post a sort of twofer.

Neon green is prob my favorite color btw.

During this run, I was listenening to the NHB podcast and they mentioned a prior guest Haz (@infrahaz on X), a well known communist figure, that was lacking in the humor department during the show and clearly did not understand that it's a shock-jock comedy show in which nothing is off limits. It's called NoHoldsBarred afterall.

This includes phallic jokes the likes that would be likely appreciated by our turtle sign graffiti artists. It's not for everyone and definitely did not seem to be Haz's cup of tea. After a few penis size inquiries (a recurring trolling theme), Haz became deeply perturbed and outraged.

During the episode, the nickname of Hot Dog Haz was coined and the host Dalton mentioned he wanted someone to turn it into a meme from a previous one he shared. I was still on the track but duty called and I delivered and it was reposted by the man himself, Dalton Clodfelter. So that was pretty cool.

Now, for today's run, I drove out to Woodcrest park and turns out it was a good decision. The trails are moderately shady so that helps a lot so I don't end up a heat casualty or sunburned but the real allure of this place is the wildlife on the trail.

A few honorable mentions for the wildlife are the owl that flew away in the canopy before I could snap a shot, a small green snake that wriggled its way across the path into the underbrush, and a roadrunner that I didn't realize was a roadrunner until I saw the sign. All and all, was an above average experience for my runs and I would definitely go for something like this rather than a boring track or treadmill.

With the completion of this and my last run, I have accumulated another 10.05 miles bringing me to a total of 31.72 miles. This distance is slightly greater than the English Channel Tunnel or Chunnel for reference. Well, that does it for me. Hope you enjoyed the report. See ya next time!

Thanks for stopping by ✌️
