Nie samym bieganiem człowiek żyje, szczególnie w czasie adwentu, kiedy wkoło pełno świątecznych jarmarków z niezdrowym jedzeniem i grzanym winem. Nasz najulubieńszy jarmark to ten w Lille, mimo przedświątecznej gorączki co roku w grudniu staramy się wygospodarować jeden dzień na wizytę w Lille. Doskonale się złożyło, że dziś miałem wolne, więc długo nie trzeba było mnie namawiać, żeby pojechać do stolicy północnej Francji.
[ENG] Not only running, especially during Advent when Christmas markets with unhealthy food and mulled wine abound. Our favourite is the one in Lille; despite the pre-Christmas rush, we try to find a day every December to visit Lille. It was perfect that I had the day off, so it didn't take long to persuade me to go to the capital of northern France.
Na straganach miesza się kuchnia francuska z flamandzką, oczywiście wszędzie dużo roztopionego sera, najczęściej wybierany jest ser Maroilles, czyli ser dojrzewający o intensywnym zapachu pochodzący z regionu Nord-Pas-de-Calais. W tym roku zdecydowaliśmy się na alzacki Flamekeusche, czyli cienki placek z ciasta chlebowego z cebulą, boczkiem ciętym w drobne słupki i śmietaną. W zeszłym roku spróbowaliśmy zapiekanki na jednym ze straganów, tak nam posmakowała, że w tym roku powtórzyliśmy, ja oczywiście wybrałem taką z serem Maroilles. Po takich grzeszkach jutro powrót do biegania.
[ENG] The food stalls are a mix of French and Flemish cuisine and, of course, lots of melted cheese, the most popular being Maroilles, an intensely flavoured mature cheese from the Nord-Pas-de-Calais region. This year we opted for Alsatian Flamekeusche, a thin pizza of bread dough with onion, bacon and cream. Last year we tried the casserole at one of the stands and liked it so much that we had to have it again this year, with me, of course, choosing one with Maroilles cheese. After such sins, I am back to the running tomorrow.
