As each day goes by, I struggle to recall what I did the day before. There are so many moving parts - selling a house, catching up a few years backlog in taxes, running three investing portfolios, managing a garden, looking after my part of a household - shopping and cooking. What I do know is I hate winter mornings and it takes time to get moving.
I do move. I keep track of markets. I read the investing news. I feed the birds. I work on small wins.
I did get out on the bike after lunch to walk a track in Ku-ring Gai Chase NP to look for spring orchids.
Sun was out and temperature was above 20C which is what a sun orchid wants to have to open. First open thelymitra ixioides for the season.

Close by was this pea flower. This one is a little different to the others as it grows on a bladed leaf that is almost like a succulent
Turned back onto the main fire trail - budding bearded orchid in a new location
Close by was another budding orchid - they like the mossy base. This is a sun orchid of some form - not seen it before in this location. I am going to guess thelymitra carnea. A few more weeks to go.
Walked all the way to the drop off to the creek. No sign of flying duck orchids from last year.

Good to get on the bike. Stopped at shops on the way home to get a few things.
Dinner: Osso bucco with baby potatoes- started that early tonget 3 hours cook time. Yum.
Season and flour the osso bucco - sear in oil or butter
Make a sauce - onions, celery, leeks, garlic, capsicum, carrots, mushroom stock, white wine - sequence from longest to shortest to cook. Add in a tin of chopped tomatoes. Add your favourite herbs and bring to boil. Add in the osso bucco and simmer/reduce
Served with baby potatoes and brussels sprouts

You often buy them in sphagnum moss. That is a way to cheat the ones that grow on trees or rocks. These terrestrial ones do seem to like a moss base on a rock - I am all eyes since I learned that
one of the very beautiful flowers and of course have shared it here and I can feel happy to see it
