Heading back to Sydney today. Decided to squeeze in a bike ride around Coolangatta Mountain
Down a busy Bolong Road into the wind at the end of a weekend. Turned off onto Back Forest Road - a theme for the day - little bits of forest

Ride done - it is a nice rolling ride with good views and quiet once one gets off Bolong Road
Got the car packed. Noted a warning sign about an accident on our road home. Road closed. Looked for alternatives to go up and around. Another accident up Macquarie Pass - road closed. Picked the next road south up over the top - it had a two way traffic control. Was a 45 minute wait
Detour landed us in Robertson in the Southern Highlands for a lunch stop. Nice simple lunch and nice people.
Was a long journey home - 4 hours for what is normally under 2.5 hours
Dinner: An Alfredo type dish - chicken, ham, mushrooms and creamy pasta
Start with a roux - butter, flour, spring onion, garlic. Then add in some milk and melt in a bunch of leftover cheese - parmesan is key to add salty flavours
Cook up the chopped mushrooms in butter on the side
Picked fresh herbs - basil, oregano, thyme, parsley. Strip off the stalks and chop up a little
Bring them all together and serve with a favourite pasta. Served with cracked pepper. Yum end to a hard travel day.

The mountain’s aboriginal meaning is beautiful place or splendid place. The mountain dominates the whole area - I always look up to it as my place of peace. Makes for a great ride
