Return from Coolanagatta Mountain : December 1 2024

in Actifit2 days ago

Sun came out after two and half days of solid rain. It is going home day. Work to do - cut the grass which has gone gang busters in 3 weeks away. Even needed raking

The routine photo of Coolangatta Mountain when feeding the vege scraps to the chickens

Managed to get a photo of the chickens - well one anyway

We headed out just after midday - two stage trip. Into the city to pick up my car and then home

Mural art on the way to the city - Tempe - I think it is. The blue sky said nothing about what was coming

Got my car just as the rain started. Was a huge storm on the way over the harbour bridge. A bit of hail too. Never seen a wall of water like that. Was good to get a little north into drier terrain

Flowering bottlebrush next to our apartment - got the wrong camera for photos - there is something in focus

We made it safely. Hard drive home

Dinner: Italian meatballs - make up the meatballs - minced beef, chopped onion, mixed herbs, salt and pepper, beaten egg, bread crumbs

Brown them in a little olive oil. While this cooks along chop some veges - onion, celery, garlic - whatever you fancy. Set the meatballs aside

Cook up a rich tomato sauce - more herbs, a little wine. Let it thicken up a bit

Add in the meatballs and cover with sauce. Get them nice and warm. Serve with pasta and shredded cheese - salad too if you like

Good few days away - too bad it rained so much

The meatballs look good and delicious...

They were - and will make a good leftover meal too

Wow
That mural art is looking so cute
Nice one!

Would have liked to stop to get the whole picture. It is a collection of the old time advertising from this side of town. I would have a history lesson right there - as it is not my home town. Only been here 24 years
