A slow start to an important day. Plan is to catch up with my son and his family on one of the Jervis Bay beaches. Not seen my granddaughter since here christening in September. Had to buy a few things for a picnic
Did part on of the shopping and found from the lady in front of me in the supermarket that wait time for fish and chips was 45 minutes. No problem as that was about the time my son would leave his place. Placed my order and did the rest of the purchases. Waited and waited and waited. Orders after mine came out - mine was lost. Getting steamed up as the story with my son is tested. They whacked my order on and gave me a refund
Bay location was good - grass, big trees for shade and lots of wind. Nobody was fussed about the wind. We sat and chatted and played ball.

The best thing about granddads is they will chase ball all day. Took a while before Scarlett would hand the ball to me. But she looked at me at every turn. She knows who I am - no matter what her mum feels.
Next game was to hand over leaves - this one has some fab shades - a mix of summer and drying out. Scarlett is over 2 years old and this is the first time I have had this sort of interaction. They will work it out, is advice I was given
A beautiful location for a catch up - it was windy but it was our time.
Was given the new news - there will be a new grandchild come June or July. Exciting times

Too bad my wife was working. She would have liked a more relaxed setting than the last one with my son's partner
The whole event lifted a weight off my shoulders. It has been 6 months of no speaks. Maybe we get back to normal.
Dinner: Pizza - never doubt about food in our house - made from scratch and with due care
