Forecast was for another hot day. Missed the cue to get out early when my wife headed off to work. Not normally working on Saturday but they are doing a big data migration. Had an idea to drive and walk Lane Cove River. Just as well I did not dibthat as they ran a hazard reduction burn down there. Also did one the other place I wanted to walk. Smoke and heat kept me at home - walked late
Did a short loop walk to get the steps - local flowers it is. These are hard to photograph - might have to bring macro phone
Spied this little flower growing through a slatted fence. No idea what it is other than it looks like a hemigenia
Walked past the tennis courts to see who was playing Saturday. Will join in when it gets a little cooler. They play every Saturday
Gardenia hedge going well. Not flowering at home. We have two unhappy plants
This is normally a tough photo. No idea if this is leaf or flower BUT happy with the way it came out
The garden at Eryldene is always tidy. Two framing photos - one with the gate and sign.
Next framing is of the garden path and the front door
Read a rant article during the week qhiut trees cut down by State Rail. Photo shows 4 of the 5 that were cut down. You can see the fence behind - these are not on State Rail property. The trees were 60 metres tall but not enough height to threaten the powerlines for the rail line. And the downside - tree is threatened and an important food source for lots of birds and flying foxes
Camellia hedge flowering - seems late
Two tone pink form
And close to home a pink flowering gum nut (eucalyptus)
A photo from the start of the walk - signage at the building site at the school. Some signs you would expect - protective gear - moving vehicles. The others say a bit more about the times - hard work knows no gender. Zero tolerance - best leave the school girls alone
Was cooking hot when I got home. Itching for autumn to chase the humidity away.
Dinner: Pasta with leftover spatchcock - was good

Man those are some welcomed warm steps this cold wintery Canadian Sunday morning. It was -19 overnight and it was one of the longest nights I have ever had with this insane fever.
I made it through though and got to enjoy your always exotic flora and learn that hard work has no gender ;). Thanks my friend.
You mentioned “unhappy plants”
Are there actually some plants that ain’t happy or is that a figurative speech?
Happy plants flourish green. Unhappy plants go pale and show burn marks from sun or fungus. Have two of these at home growing in their own pots not too far apart. One is happy and one is not. Tomorrow I will swap them around to see what changes - one gets more sun than the other.
