Got some rainy days forecast. Struggling with the way things are going - seem so far away from what I wanted. Markets suck. IM stuff is painfully slow - just running out of hours each day trying to keep up.
Took the car to walk a slice of Lane Cove NP not walked before. Not my favourite place to walk as it is overgrown with garden escapees.
Photo from the turnaround point. Path goes down to the river and across Fairylands Oicnic Grounds and back up to the dry scherophyll forest and to where the M2 crosses the Lane Cove River. Forest areas are good for orchids - nothing where the river floods
Great North Walk comes through this way
Lobelia flower
Bonnet orchid leaves
Flash of white - woolsia pungens
Ferns seen from above down to the creek
View across the river - young lads wrapping up their kayaking day
Peach-flowered tea tree
Banksia flowering - long spiky leaves
Signage for the Fairylands story
A few of these around - scurvy weed is the name - location tells me - weed and not native
Lane Cove River
More river views from up high
Mushrooms right in the track - one been tramped on
A different banksia - also with long leaves
Silver top mushroom
Rock face with a bunch of ferns - in all sizes
View up the river to Chatswood skyline
No idea what this flower is - pretty in purple
From the turnaround the path works up from the track - expected to find orchids - did find acianthus orchid budding
Next of the lobelia flowers - tiny and hard to get focus
Mushroom off track
Next section above the low levels - into rain forest - signs of chiloglottis orchids
Were a few flowering - common wasp orchid
Front on view - challenge to get ID. The bottom of the labellum is squared off and the calli are squared off
Next flower up - hard to see what is going on at the bottom of the labellum as it is folding over
Next one up is similar. What confuses me is all the photos of chiloglottis diphylla show a more pointed labellum with a line of calli going to the point. Going to rest though with chiloglottis diphylla - common ant orchid
Pea flower
Found one bonnet orchid still flowering - cryptostylis erecta
Not the best place to walk because of the way alien vegetation is overtaking the National Park but did find 3 orchids. Always good on a new track
Quiet evening at home - my wife was not interested in dinner - did a cheat dinner in the air fryer raiding the tapas supplies.
Did get one key task done to wrap up my mother's estate - been 4 years. Progress

You seem to prefer flowery views to other views like the beach and so much more
