I love the way the artist uses the old window opening to create the space for the face to look out at the viewer. I snapped off this picture while walking back from an early Friday night dinner. Maybe it was my finish barely under 7K steps, but I completely forgot to post for Friday, November 1. At least Hive will bear witness to my low step count Friday since I barely left my seat while teaching a half day at school.
I got home and was tired as hell, so after dinner, I jumped in bed to relax. But just after midnight, I got a notification that a few friends bought tickets to the Chromebodies show at Elsewhere, so I had to join in the fun after all. I threw on some joggers and a fresh T-shirt and walked over to the club just after 12.30am.
It turned out to be a great night of dancing in the hall. Manila Killa and Hotel Garuda combined to bring us their new project called Chromebodies, and it was a hit. The dance floor was popping all night, and I definitely got quite a workout in dancing the night away!
Then, on my late night walk home, I saw Lopez again, this time painted on the side of a van. The homey sure is busy. But not me, though, not this weekend. Well, you wouldn't know it from the 21,160 steps I totaled on Saturday.
After a relaxing afternoon at home watching soccer, I cleaned the apartment a bit and made plans for the evening. I finally had an excuse to bring my partner to this fabulous French restaurant that is directly in front of my friend's place in Long Island City. She agreed to it because my buddy was having a karaoke party over at his place, which is always a hoot.
The meal looked almost as good as she did! Karaoke was fun, too! He hired a live pianist to play the tunes and even sing a little backup. My buddy throws the best houseparties!
Sunday I was up early to head to the pub to watch Chelsea with my fellow New York Blues. Sadly, we did not get the result we wanted away to Manchester United, even though the boys played a good match. My consolation was the delicious Irish breakfast at the pub. A true work of art!
After soccer finished up, I detoured to Trader Joe's for a few groceries on my way home. Then we cooked up some lentil soup and plopped down on the couch to finish the week with a few more scary movies before spooky season ends. Three days, one report. Hopefully, I do better next weekend with my timely reports, especially so that I don't miss anymore 20K step days! Until next time...

Cool tag, maybe a self-portrait ? 😂
The meal looks excellent, and especially in good company.
Have a great day... big day in the US.
I just can't imagine another Trump presidency. I still remember the tears and fear on the faces of my 12yr old students in Arizona when they had to come in to class the Wednesday after Trump won the election. Absolute horror and something I can never forget.
