FriYAY! It was a short school day and an early release from our professional development because we had our school holiday party later. But before I could head home for the day, we had to practice our staff dance for the Holiday Showcase next week.
We went through the full routine about 5 times before we all headed out. I was in good shape with 10K steps under my belt by the time I got home at 5pm. I only had about an hour at home to unwind with my partner before heading back out for the night. She was still a bit under the weather, so I went to the holiday party on my own.
I made a pit stop and walked over to Elsewhere on the way to check out its Holiday Market, with lots of fun gifts on offer. I bought a few pieces of upcycled thrift clothes that looked nice, and also got my partner a pair of yummy smelling candles.
The holiday party was at a Caribbean bar and restaurant called Kokomo in Williamsburg right by the waterfront. Our staff showed in full force for the two-hiur open bar and tasty buffet food. I thoroughly enjoyed the spicy jerk chicken and garlic roasted broccolini. I don't drink anymore, but I definitely had fun watching my coworkers enjoying themselves.
The conversations were flowing and when the open bar ended at 10pm a lot of the staff stuck around on the dance floor when the DJ took over the music. Even the security there couldn't believe such a good-looking and sharp-dancing group were all a bunch of teachers.
Between the school day and all the dancing at night, I flew by 20K steps for my most active day in December. Until next time...
