Once in a while I like to go shopping for groceries at a supermarket outside of the city, where there's more parking space and a quiet store after dark.
But yesterday was the last time I went to Lidl in Culemborg. There was no cashier and at the self-checkout, they'd installed an annoying scale to put your bags on. Which gave a warning immediately. And then I had to scan & pack every item individually. A staff member had to help/check me four times.
I guess this is what Americans complain about when they mention "Unexpected item in bagging area", but I never encountered such a system before.
Today's giveaway: a chair on the street.
