Hey everybody and thanks for stopping by today!
Time is ticking……literally every day. This pic is the clock face of our grandfather clock. Back when we purchased this particular model, it was my understanding that there were only 5 of them made, making it almost one of a kind. I think I’ve only seen a picture once of another like ours. It’s not so much in the clock face but in the body styling of the cabinet. I am not showing that at this time; perhaps at a later date just to keep you in suspense!
Today began with going to church. The sermon was very good and it’s great to be with our brothers and sisters. It’s also a little awkward due to the “to mask or not to mask” situation. We mask-as much for our own safety but also for that others. unfortunately almost 95% of the congregation does not. Anyway, everybody needs to do what they need to do. We will continue on 😷
Time keeps on ticking……as the pendulum swings back and forth. You can see one of the wheels that supports one of the weights in front of the pendulum. This clock will chime on each quarter hour either the Westminster chimes, Whittier chimes, or St. Michael chimes or, you can silence them altogether. We tend to stick to the Westminster.
After church, we came home long enough for @silvertop to cut the boards needed to form up the concrete for the mini split’s base. Then we headed out to do some shopping. @silvertop walks laps around the store while I shop. I think maybe he needs to push the cart next time so I can achieve my goals. I always get short changed when we go 🙄
Back to the clock…….
I’ve moved this clock from Ohio to Colorado and then here to Washington state. There are specific things that need to be done when moving a grandfather clock, as you can seriously mess it up to the point that it won’t operate. You can also seriously damage the cabinetry or break the various panes of beveled glass that it has. Needless to say, I am the clock mover. I won’t allow anyone else to move it. More on the clock……later.
So now it’s evening and time to begin winding down for the day. We stayed up way too late last night and morning came way too soon! I am tired 😴
Tomorrow is Memorial Day here in the US. A salute in honor of all veterans! Thank you!
Everybody, take care and have a blessed week!😇👣🐑😊☀️🌻😎👍😴
