Hi guys and thanks for stopping by!
It was good to not have an active patient day today and which gave me an opportunity to finish the billing for the exams the doc does at another optical shop. I had two appointments with two frame reps. One didn’t show but I found out after emailing her, she had a family emergency. She was needed elsewhere. The second one came and I’ve ordered some fresh stock for the clinic. I was glad to have a semi quiet afternoon to work on some tasks that needed attention. The day went swiftly.
After getting home, I made a mocha and enjoyed it!☕️☕️☕️ Then we headed out for an evening hike with Jan. Towards our turnaround point, we ran into another neighbor, Marsha with her large chocolate lab, Duke! He’s such a sweetheart!
We headed back down and ran across a quirk of nature.

It has to be one of the strongest mushrooms I’ve ever encountered. It actually grew through the pavement to rise above all odds and hold its gloriously somewhat dirty head above the barriers it encountered! How’s that for tenacity?! Way to go Mr. Mushroom!
@actifit-lamb was excited when I showed her the pictures. She said if that mushroom could overcome those odds, why, she could do just about any thing she set her mind to. I’m sure that’s going to lead to an adventure soon! 🐑

It was still there yesterday, but somehow (probably because it was so darn humid and I was pretty miserable) I did not notice today.
How did it survive, I wonder?
I'm not sure, but we checked today and it is still hanging in there! Usually, the shrivel up fairly quickly, and I would think it would especially since it's been well over 40 days of no rain and heat! Hardy little bugger!
