Today was the dayโฆโฆ.tax day! Yes, I know, the deadline is approaching, but honestly, I abhor doing taxes!! I will procrastinate about as long as I dare before I start. That way, if I run into any snags, I have a few days to iron it out. It took a little while to do them, but Iโll file the coming weekend. I like to revisit the whole process before doing so and couldnโt as my youngest called me just as I was finishing up.
Jan had texted me that she was attending a softball game today, so she wouldnโt be available for a hike. @silvertop and myself set out later than we normally would have, but taxes take precedence over hiking.
We found lots of tiny treasures along the way!
This little guy was busy ripping and tearing at the bark of a cedar tree. Maybe he was after the moss? Iโm not sure but he was really working hard at it!
I took a ton of pictures so Iโd have some for those rainy days when hiking isnโt possible.
It turned out to be a nice day. I am happy. ๐

LOL, @jayna! @silvertop calls them golf tees too! They are a type of fungus growing on a tree stump in the forest. Perhaps there are little elves golfing there too......you just never know! Thanks for stopping by and have a lovely day!

Thank you @prechidi! It is not a fruit, but is a flower bud. It just blooms the flower. However, come early summer, there is a fruit in the forest we partake of while hiking. Some know it as Service Berries, or Salmon Berries or even Thimble Berries. They have a lovely flavor kind of similar but not, to raspberries, and resemble a thimble when picked off the bush. They grow profusely in our forests here and we just have to 'graze' them while hiking. I want to make jam from them, but always seem to eat what I pick, lol, and they never make it home. Stay tuned and when they appear and ripen, I'll post them.

Thank you @queenstarr! The forest is an amazing, ever changing place that is never dull or boring! I will file the taxes next weekend which is about 2 weeks ahead of the deadline. I am so glad they are basically done!
