Don’t ever believe everything on the internet, even if everyone shares it. Have you ever heard that quote? Yes, that quote means a lot. In this digital era, news can be spread rapidly. Everyone can be an amateur writer. We should be careful of false information that we may receive. This happens to my friends. Recently, her friend posted something on her Instagram. There were photos of the test pack, a USG photo and a bumped belly. If you see it from your perspective, you may assume that she shared her pregnancy journey. This is usually a happy moment, right? My friend also mistook it as good news. She doesn’t read the captions. The caption was in Chinese Pin Yin. She congratulated them on the WhatsApp group. She thought that it must be happy news. Then I asked her privately about the pregnancy. It turns out that it was bad news. Her child was unable to survive because her skull cannot grow perfectly. Then I messaged my friend that they should be grieving. She then told me why she concluded that, by giving me the Instagram photo. As a neutral person, I also conclude that it was a happy moment, until we saw the captions. We then translated it into English. It said “Goodbye my daughter”. OMG. My friend posted it on WhatsApp group, then she deleted it and her husband told them the bad news and consoled them. They never share anything about the pregnant journey with us. That’s why there’s a misunderstanding between them. That’s why you should always cross-check the news before sharing it. Whether is it true or false news. How about you? Have you ever experienced that? Please share it.
