It’s a sunny day today in Surabaya, Indonesia. The weather forecast said that it will be a long summer than usual. We need to water the plant regularly to prevent it from dying. This day my son’s performance on Kaza Mall. He will dance with his friends about clean and not littering everywhere. He is practicing it everyday at school but never show it to me. He said that he is to embarrassed to show it to me. Finally I can see it today. This our 3rd year in Surabaya, so we are not that familiar with everything yet. We just know the big and well known mall, while Kaza mall is like a modern market for me. It still have the traditional market on the underground. The teacher keeps warn us not to come late, because if we come late, we need to wait another 10 lines. We look it up at Google and find it. It took us 45 minutes to go there. The mall is not really big. Just like what I said, it still like traditional market but have a little renovation. My son performs at 11.00 Am. He is too shy to show it to me, so I decide to sit at the back but he still make it without any wrong move.
After the performance I buy a local drink there. It called “Air Mata Kucing” or “Cat tears”. If I’m not mistaken, that drink is from Malaysia. It was a tea blended with Longan, Lou Han Guo, gourd and rock sugar. It taste unique and good for curing ulcer. After that we decide to eat there, because it just past the lunch hour. My son asked to buy fried Catfish. We enter the restaurant confidently and look at the menu. I give my husband eye signal. It was too pricey. How come a fried catfish cost Rp. 40.000 around $2.51 while I can get 1kg of raw catfish just for $1.88. Lol, we decided to find another restaurant. My son still wondering why should we move, so I explained it to him after we leave the restaurant. After a long discussion we decide to eat at the restaurant near home that we know the taste and price hahaha.
