Lantern Festival 2024

in Actifit9 months ago

On Saturday, Feb 24th, the 15th day of the Chinese New Year, the Lantern Festival was celebrated, where children went out at night carrying colourful, brighter, and lovely designed lanterns to the parks and ran around here and there.

This year, I have not seen many people playing with lanterns in the parks because there is still another similar festival in September called the Mid Autumn Festival.

The main attractions are the Leisure and Cultural Services Department mascots named "Enggie Pup" and "Artti Kitty"; they are lovely pups and gorgeous kitty. They use them to promote different activities across the city.

The lighting lantern represents the hope for the year ahead, and apart from this, represents unity for the families.
For this festival, I visited Tin Shui Wai Park, where the decorations were beautiful, and many people went there to see the bright lantern decorations.

I saw the decorations before they turned on the lights, and it was still beautiful. It is lovely to see how kids enjoy running here and there or how their parents take pictures of them.

Unfortunately, the lantern decoration lasts for a week only.

There are many shapes and sizes; for example, there was a pair of lovely cartoon dogs, a phoenix bird, a golden fish, some butterflies, adorable pigs, funny frogs and some lotus flowers.

Finally, this festival marks the Chinese New Year celebrations' finale, so see you next year.

Beautiful lanterns! I wish we had the same tradition here. I would join the kids with lantern too!

I thought you have similar festival in your country.

How cute. Looks so fun 😍

Indeed, every district has its lanterns display ☺️

You can also pin like this at pinmapple map...
I guess TST has good lantern displays too last CNY

I completely forgot the pinmapple; thanks for your reminder.

If I were just closer, I'd be there in a heartbeat! Lovely lanterns!

Haha, the decorations are so lovely 🤓

Greetings, friend, everything is very nice, the place really looks very fun and entertaining, I can't imagine my daughter in a place like that, I think it would give her an adrenaline rush, she is very extrovert

Thanks for your comment; kids are the ones who enjoy the festival. Definitely your daughter will love it, too.

If she adored him, I imagine her, she is very exaggerated and extroverted, she would put on quite a show😂😅. Thanks to you for this cultural approach

Thanks @tierra-errante, I’m more than happy you like the post.
