Hehe, years ago, I accidentaly hitchhiked in this area :) One guy who didn't speak any language we did (Czech, English, French, Spanish, and even a bit of German) dropped us in Münster even though we headed to München. We just couldn't explain he misunderstood us :)) Also, he though we missed a train (that's how people usually get hitchhiking, right?), so he insisted on taking us to the central train station. We had to walk several kilometers to the edge of Münster to get another hike.

I had great luck, and fun often. This was the only incident, and not really a harsh one :)
