Hi there! Assalamu Alaikum. How are you? Hope that you are well. I am fine as well, Alhamdulillah. Here are my activities on the 24th of August 2022. It was Wednesday. It is my Actifit report number 801! In this post, I have included the following things:
- A story of one of my patients
- Chamber updates
- Walking activities
- A few photographs
Story of a patient who, following a simple action fell into a trouble
A middle-aged patient visited me yesterday. His case was somewhat interesting. He came holding his scrotum in his left hand. What was the problem? Pain?
No!
Then what?
He was holding a bleeding point on the scrotum!!
According to him, around three hours before he arrived at our clinic, he just removed a small dry scab from the scrotum. Immediately bleeding started from that point. He holds the skin tightly. But, whenever removed manual pressure, the bleeding started. It wasn't oozing, but rather pretty heavy bleeding. When his efforts seemed not to work, he decided to come holding the bleeding point.
When we (another GP and I) examined him, we found a tiny hole in the skin of his scrotum. And, whenever we were releasing pressure, the blood started going out heavily. The act of removal of the scab, which was situated just over a vein, injured the vein from where the bleeding was coming.
It was in such an odd place that we could neither put on a pressure bandage nor could put ice over the bleeding point. Lastly, one viable option was to cauterize the wound. As the option wasn't available in our clinic, we referred him.
Who could have guessed that just the simple removal of a dry scab would lead to cauterising the wound!!
Chamber activities
On Wednesday, in my chamber, I consulted 30 patients. There was no emergency case, Alhamdulillah. And, in the visa medical section, 40 people came for the check-up.
Workout
In the morning, I walked on the treadmill for 20 minutes only.
