#Wednesdaywalk : Lake of Tunis Edition

in Actifit24 days ago

After 15 days in France, I finally went home with mixed feelings about my trip but that's not the topic of this post. Yesterday I went to work near the lake of Tunis and, of course, I had to do the usual walk after lunch even though my walking buddy was stil in france for another week.

Walking alone doesn't make it any less beautiful as you can see in the photo below.

The mountains saying hello from across the lake were the best company one can ask for. Especially since they are some good old friends of mine.

One of them (the one barely visible on the right) is the mountain of Zaghouan. The one I wrote about so many times already since he's the reason behind most of my good memories and my strongest friendships. He's only 10 Km from my parents' home. He looks small in this photo but he's the tallest one around.

More to the left you can see Resas mountain (meaning the Lead mountain, because he's empty inside after decades of mining and extracting several minerals, mainly lead). One I also hiked to the top and in the mines underground once and did some sport climbing many times with the ropes and all. He also feels like a familiar "face".

The one to the left with the two humps is called Boukarnin mountain. Meaning the one with two horns. I never climbed that one, yet. I don't know if climbing and hiking there are allowed because he's a natural reserve and has endangered species. But so is the Mountain of Zaghouan. So I'll keep you guys updated if I ever get to climb him.

There is another right next to Boukarnin that I don't know the name. Maybe he's just part of Boukarnin or he's too small to be called a mountain.

I also had the honor to be accompanied by these two curious animals. An albatros and a playful duck. A weird combination since, to my knowledge, one lives by the sea and the other in lakes.

The albatros was calm enough while the duck kept diving and reappearing in random directions, which made it challenging to take a photo of them both. Sertainly it was feasting on the small fish.

Yeah, before I forget, that would be my face 😉
