the night walk journey started on a bridge.
this was how the otake bridge looks at the side.
a bit distinct with that steel arch.
i have previously mentioned this in my nearby bridges post as follows:
now is the time to witness it in all its splendour, from the side.
the cloudy sky also added a little drama and mystery.
i was traversing the river banks, a bit scary for it was dark.
it was a full moon but clouds cover it's lights.
i would have wanted to catch a reflection of the moon on the waters but i guess today is not the day.
at some point, a light from a building shone towards me.
this created a shadow which i gladly took pictures off.
it was this dark!
then the light finally peered through the clouds at some point.
this illuminated my path at least.
i clearly saw which puddles to avoid, i have been stepping things without seeing them for quite a while now.
this was my first walk towards this area, kita senju.
it was a city, a bit crowded.
so different from the usual trails i took.
lots of shops were still open and lights were still bright.
in one of the covered walks, city staff were busy installing this mist system.
summer is indeed coming, and tokyo is a known oven during that period.
this misting system helps cool the passers by for even just a bit.
what do you guys have to alleviate summer heat in your area?
do you also have a similar system?
after buying some sunscreen stick in one of the department stores, i decided to head home.
i passed by a shopping street, shotengai is how it is called in japanese.
people were still active and lively in this area.
my path was to head straight on this road until i reach a bridge.
senju ohashi bridge was it's name, i have reached this place before but i was down by the river banks.
it was surprisingly wide, it looked small from below.
i saw this bridge in one of my very first night walker journeys, when i passed by a waterless fountain.
and i will have to pass by that same place again, and it will be an easy familliar route.
took a shot of this statue by the street.
it was a clear reminder of what we all needed to bring on this season in tokyo.
she will never get wet and she will always be shaded.
rainy days are clearly here and summer will soon follow.
time for oven season.
i finally reached home in less than 3 hours.
a little over than 8 kilometers travelled.
not bad for this nightwalker.
i am still enjoying this night walker journeys and it will continue for some time more.
i wonder where else to go and what else to discover next.
stay safe everyone and have fun.
