this sunset sure is pretty even if it was blocked by this building. those colors still found a way to show how beautiful they were. and the sky is pretty wide, it will show somewhere somehow. this was the beginning of my afternoon this first day of the work week. i was just glad that there was not much task to do.
the phantom prison temple
so here i was initially planning to go to a temple with a gruesome past near minami senju. it was an old prison and many died and was thrown in mass burials. that burial site has turned into a temple with a buddhist statue erected on it to appease the tormented souls of the prisoners. it was a new route for me, i would even love to take more pictures of this tunnel under the train tracks. i arrived near the place but i just couldn't enter the site. google maps stopped at a random place but there was no entrance, all i could see was the train tracks. it seems that the actual entrance was beside a foot bridge, but was close at the moment. what a waste! i should have checked earlier for the open hours. i ended proceeding my nightwalker journey to kita senju.
shopping street findings
walked on a familiar path to kita senju, it passes through a shopping street. as it was around 8 pm at this time most shops were already closing down. i did continued on this straight path, it led to the riverside.
before reaching the riverside though, i noticed the decorations on this shopping street. they were wood block prints from the edo period. if i'm not mistaken, these were part of the 36 views of mount fuji by the artist Hokusai. japan surely loves to display their art. their were many others on this street, it must be the full collection.
as i continued walking down this street, i also passed by some old looking houses. they were probably houses in the past but were now converted to shops. i always have special interest to wooden houses even from before, and i was ready about to nerd it out tonight before i remembered how far away i was from my goal.
riverside dilemmas
i eventually reached the riverside and continued walking westward. there was nothing much to see, there were no lights in the area. only the lights from the apartments across gave a little enough to see some path. i was in a bit of shock when i reached the bridge, it seemed that there was no way to cross the other side. until i remembered that there was a wide and paved riverbank underneath the bridge. i could easily go down and cross from beneath. i even took pictures of the shadows created by the bridge, do check that picture as well in a separate post.
now on the other side, i noticed lots of bikers using this path. it sure looks wide and pretty empty, a place well suited for biking. i tried taking pictures of some of them but the dark was a pretty difficult foe. my pictures turned out grainy, but i still loved the old look effect it somehow produced. it was very reminiscent of old japanese films. someday, i will be able to take a better picture of a bicycle in motion in the dark. (the current me editing this entry searched long an hard for any photography contest fitting for this image, but i couldn't find any. i guess i will have to take a clearer bicycle photo in the future.)
blogging reflection
there are still so many things just waiting to be discovered around my neighborhood. and their were so many moments i wished i took a picture of, but they pass by so fast that they were gone the moment i took my phone out. those moments would have been great street photography. at this point in my life, i am in love with street photography but i am just too slow to capture the moment. i guess this is my dream for the next year of my blogging career: be better in photography.
a year has passed since my very first introduction entry. it went by so fast, who would have thought that i have written 235 entries since then? from my first entry i wrote these as expectations:
itz.inno for it's innocent. i don't think it will be that innocent though.
allow me to share some thoughts regarding everything and anything under the sun: from food to travels, to fitness journeys, to anime, dramas and movies, to songs, to mobile gaming, to simple joys and random soliloquys. i would like to take you with me as we gain wisdom, laugh at our stumbles, and explore this world through these colorblind eyes of mine a step at a time.
1, 2, 3... mic test?!
i guess i have achieved most of those things, this blog is as random as me. but i haven't posted any anime, drama, movie or even song reviews though. i tried but i am a visual person and couldn't find the right sources for screen captures, and ended up not posting any. but for the rest, i think i did fine: needs improvement but totally fine.
a year has ended, onward to the next year. i'm taking you all again a step at a time through these colorblind eyes of mine.
as always, AMPING KANUNAY!

Interesting about the prison mass burial🙄
i was curious of that as well. people in the past had scary practices when viewed from today's lens
Very much though my friend....... although I guess back then they probably thought it was perfectly normal and acceptable!🙄😇
