morning rush
early that morning, i have already started walking outside. it was not for an exercise, but more like for an errand. i am still unsure whether to share it publicly and still contemplating until now while writing this entry. i was searching for an apparatus, a useful tool which i believe should be present in every household. but once you already have it, you don't usually buy another one for a long time; thus, making it quite difficult to find. so i searched around, went into every supermarket near our home. even went into a convenient store, found nothing. until i went inside a 100 yen shop, your one stop shop for all things including the peculiar ones. and there it was, the last and only of its kind in the rack. and i never felt so lucky in my life to find the last piece. i was searching for a
UNHIDE AT YOUR OWN RISK
TOILET PLUNGER!
sorry. and i know i should not be shy of sharing about such a mundane household tool. it was not the worst clog to begin with, water still flushed. but it was a slow drain which tells you that something was stuck somewhere. and something told me that one wrong situation would easily turn this whole thing for the worse. so i hurried out and got lucky to find one. but the worst of it all, i never got to use it. i was not even able to dip the plunger in the water, the water flushed normally when i got home.
jeez!
but at least i got to enjoy the lovely sun and these colorful flowers. i don't know what these are called but they are quite common in plant boxes all around my neighborhood. spring must really be around the corner.
nightwalker adventures
it has been a while since i had a nightwalk. since the start of march, i had to go to the physical office for work, not because it was required but because a new office member came and she had to setup her machine for home access. it took two whole weeks and a day for everything to be ready. well, three days of it was really due to a lack of good sense of judgement. and unfortunately that took days to resolve. in those days, i would easily make 10 thousand steps. and i was already too tired and drained to have a nightwalk. but those days in the office are over, i am back to home work. back to nightwalking i suppose.
tonight was just an ordinary route really, nothing special. but this yakitori (grilled chicken skewers) restaurant caught my attention. i just loved how the inside was somewhat concealed by this string curtain and how this singly lit paper lantern dispersed "red". i wonder how red it would have been if these two were lit. and those kanjiNEIGHBOURHOOD WALK, finding beauty in the ordinary things around your neighborhood. characters on the lanterns, that just simply means "chicken". what was special though was that the patrons inside were loudly laughing when i passed by, that is usually a sign of satisfaction. and i am gladly sharing that in #pobphotocontest for this week which happened to be about
walking further brought me to this part of the bridge with fishers. when before i thought that these people were just here occasionally, i now think that this is a nightly thing. too many times to still count this as mere "occasional". i still don't know what fish they get from here, and i don't even know if these rivers are safe for fishing; the area is surrounded by factories and houses so i naturally think of factory run-offs.
further, the park trees are also starting to bloom. these large flowers look pretty but i have no idea what these are called. but it does remind me of flowers from back home: kalachuchi. both flowers are white and large and odorless, but the flowering tree from back home retains its leaves while on bloom.
my nightwalk lead me to this intersection with train tracks. i honestly thought that this stop was a quick one, but i was wrong yet again. several trains passed by; i was there for 15 minutes just waiting for the go sign. i tried to take pictures of the passing trains of course, that would be a great photography entry into some contest here in hive. my cellphone just couldn't handle the speed though. it was just unfortunate, i couldn't take even a single decent shot of the many trains that passed by. so i turn my attention to the people from across who are also waiting to cross. they were just as bored as i was, except that i was now entertained by taking pictures of them.
my nightwalk ended in this familiar park. as empty as always, seeing this park just meant that i was closer to home. it was but a short walk, but it was enough to reintroduce me to this hobby of mine. i'm just glad to be back.
as always, AMPING KANUNAY!
