While I was camped in my van at Home Hill I went for a walk about town. One of the streets I walked along I noticed this old Thunderbox/Dunny/Outhouse/toilet a left over from the past. These were very common in Australia up until around the late 1960s. They were a separate toilet building from the home before plumbed flushing toilets.
This Thunderbox is all that's left on this block as the original house has been removed.
So ends this little history lesson 😁

Hehe. I think we still have such outdoor toilets in some of the rural areas in this day and age; though they are getting rare as piped water spreads everywhere
There are houses with toilet separated from the building.
