Asslamoalekum and hello to Actifit Community!. Welcome to another blog. I think How this process is the most interesting activity report I have ever shared on this platform. It was a bit warm day in January here in Pakistan. As usual, I got up early in the morning. After having breakfast 🥞 I departed to Almoiz Sugar Mills Tehsil Piplan District Province Punjab of Pakistan.
After traveling for almost one and a half hours, I reached there. My friend Kaleemulah Khan accompanied me on this journey.
We reached there well in time. I decided to plan a thorough visit to Sugar Mills. Actually, I was curious about the working of Mills. I was not aware of how sugarcane converts into refined sugar. I wanted to witness the A to Z process of making Sugar by walking. So it was going to be plenty of fun and learning for me because I had never seen the process of making sugar before in my life.
So first of all we went to the starting place where sugarcane was crushed. Many trollies carrying sugar were present there. There were heavy machines that were grinding sugarcane and extracting its juice. Here are a few pictures of this first step.
Then I walked towards the heavy boilers. These boilers were providing heat to sugarcane juice. The driers were also present for drying sugarcane juice.
Then I headed towards the third point where the machines were separating Mud from the sugarcane. These machines were busy sucking dust and mud from the sugarcane. Its color was black. This mud is used as fertilizer by farmers in growing different kinds of crops. Here, you can see the process in the pictures below.
The machines were extracting sugarcane juice and separating the waste from the sugarcane. This waste is called "Baggas" in technical language. Here you can see the pictures of Baggaas below.
Now the sugar is ready. The next point was where sugar was coming out. A camera was established there for monitoring purposes.
The endpoint was the packing point. From here the sugar was coming out and was packed by labour in different kinds of small and big bags. A machine called a shooter was placed there. All the packing process was done here.
The last point was a few godowns where sugar was stored by Mill's administration. Tons of sugar were stored in these godowns. Few storages were found in the open areas. They called them Ganjis. Here are the pictures of the ending point.
I tried to give a brief view of every portion of sugar Mills. Today, I learned how sugar is prepared. I am now aware of the whole process of making sugar.
In the meantime, I crossed 10k steps of walking. It was a long walk because the mill's area was more than 100 canals.
I enjoyed my walking in the mill's area. I tried to give a complete view of how sugar is being made in the mills. I hope you will enjoy my today's activity. Thanks
