It rained ice today — not enough to make the roads undrivable, but enough to create spectacular little frozen droplets on all the branches and offshoots of every tree.
My phone camera isn’t great at close-ups, but I managed to get a few with some clarity.
I was mesmerized by the way the ice in the upper branches of the trees made them look white and fluffy.
I’m not sure I ever captured the full effect, but it was fun to try!
Thank you for visiting! And a big shout-out to @tattoodjay — host of #wednesdaywalk, and @elizacheng — host of #makemesmile!

Thanks for joining Wednesday Walk :), I truly enjoy exploring the world virtually each Wednesday seeing walks from all around the globe and feeling I am there and experiencing it all myself, such as I did in your post just now :)
Thank you, @tattoodjay!
Most welcome, Have a great day
Back where I come from, we called that a silver thaw! It is spectacular especially when it's not too bad. I've experienced silver thaws that took trees and power lines down. Those were not so much fun! Great pictures!
Nice job with your 7208 @actifit steps for the day @jayna! Take care and have a lovely day!
Oh yes, we had several of those when I was growing up in Portland, @elizabethbit. I stayed in the Northwest through college, and one of the worst ones was when I was living in the dorms. I remember walking around campus and hearing fir trees breaking and crashing to the ground under the weight of the ice!
Crazy! My silver thaw experiences were back in the Midwest in Cincinnati, Ohio. They were crazy too. Take care @jayna and have a lovely night!
