We are still in the wind-down of Autumn, here in Minnesota. My property is graced with many large trees, which is wonderful, but it also creates a lot of work. The trees must be trimmed. They drop branches. Some drop acorns. And most of them drop leaves.
So once fall arrives, it is weeks of work to clean it all up. Today was a lovely day for working in the yard, and I got a lot done.
This first picture is my box garden, just before I removed the last of my summer marigolds.
Now let’s head to the backyard, which was my big project of the day.
Hopefully the next few pictures convey what a big task I had ahead of me.
But I did it! I collected a lot of the leaves in bags, which I put in my car to take to a leaf drop-off center nearby. The rest I hauled into a compost area at the corner of my yard.
I used a leaf blower and a rake to get the leaves onto a tarp, which I dragged to the compost.
After about four such trips, I was finally down to the last batch! Whew!
After all that my husband went over the whole yard with the lawn mower to chop and mulch the remaining leaves. But it was getting dark, so I didn’t get a picture.
Thanks for coming along on my leaf collecting adventure!

The leafs were much but you showed a lot of effort ln collecting all of lt, also with the help from your husband, the yard is clean, and you had a great number of actifit counts. Blessings
I love autumn for that, while we lack a garden for yard work (and such physical activity). Yet when friends invite us, we're eager to give hands.
I wished for a big yard and garden for building a "Humanure" compost. Leaves are great for that. While in the urban area we are in actually I guess some neighbors would oppose it (because they can't imagine it's quality).

I only have one tree in my garden (it makes enough mess, all by itself), but the house is surrounded by trees along the street, in the boundary hedge and neighbours' gardens. I was out this morning, just trying to get the path clear so the postman can get up and down - they re so long-suffering. I decided to put my haul as a mulch on the vegetable garden, it will work fine if we have some rain and no high winds 😂.
Actifit is only recording 2,500 steps for me, I'm sure the arm work should count as well!
The fall cleanup never ends Lol😇
Thankfully, where we live high wind storms blow the leaves away !😊
Minnesota looks beautiful, I love the photos!!
Looking at all this work makes me tired 😖 but it's wonderful to see you got it done and it's looking spiffy. 🍂
