After struggling through our Orangetheory Fitness workouts recently due to a bad heel I was concerned that I might have been too sore to run the latest running event Tiffany and I were signed up for.

Well, somehow I made it through without having to stop and yet again another medal earned albeit about four minutes later than my usual time.

Tiffany also has some ailments she’s dealing with and power walked the heck out of the path to earn her medal like a champ.

In its sixth year, the Central Florida Legends event was held today, traversing the scenic Spring-to-Spring and East Central Regional paved trails in West Volusia County. All races began and concluded at Gemini Springs Park in Debary, Florida.

Located conveniently between Orlando and Daytona Beach, Debary offered easy access to Gemini Springs via Interstate 4. The West Volusia Runners organized the event in collaboration with Runner's High Timing and Race Management.

Participants competed in the Skunk Ape Full Marathon, Mermaid Half Marathon, and Tiffany and I chose to do the Fountain of Youth 5K. The courses led runners through paved trails, roads, and parks rich with Old Florida’s unique flora and fauna, featuring flat and fast routes ideal for personal bests.
