My son and I played a couple of rounds of disc golf at our favorite course this afternoon. We were joined by a friend on the second round.
The wind was blowing kind of hard for the rounds today. Nobody lost anything but the scores were a bit high.
I was throwing the new (to me) Proton Insanity disc that I purchased yesterday a lot. It was working well and I like the disc but I don't know how to forehand it well yet. I was having a bit of trouble today with my forehand throw in general though. I think it is a lot more touchy throw for me to get right. When it works well I can hit some pretty narrow gaps with it but sometimes I can miss rather badly.
Some garden flowers:
The top of my desk has some new discs on it:
The two custom dye job Star Destroyer discs are ones I purchased today from my friend. He got them from someone else and then added the dye to them. They have a nice yin and yan feeling to them with the dragons facing off and the different colors in the dye job.
These discs are light at 162 and 163 grams. It surprises me that they weigh that much because I heard that the Japan Open has a max 150 gram weight. This is about my favorite weight for a distance driver unless I'm trying to mash it into a headwind.
The dragons are multicolored looking and change a bit depending on the lighting.
I'm not sure if I'm going to throw these discs or not. They are really nice looking and I would rather not mess them up.
The other new disc is a 159 gram Proton Plastic Crave disc. This is the same type of material as the one I just recently lost but a few grams lighter. I really like the way this disc looks with the glitter sparkle in the base material. I think this pink and yellow color should be easier to spot than the green and orange disc I lost. I will be throwing this one a lot unless it is way less stable than the one I lost.
The other disc is a first run Majesty disc that is a max weight 175 gram. It flies very nicely but I've only throw it in the grass and it is in perfect shape. It is a bit heavy and almost too pretty to throw too.
