My Actifit Report Card: March 20 2025 - 2 from The Hawkbirds

I say it a lot because it's true; family is so important. And you find a fun activity to do together that everyone likes, then you have a great bonding experience!

The Hawkbirds are a 3 piece family band that I have featured before. We have dad on drums, mom on guitar and backing vocals, daughter on bass and lead vocals. The do cover songs, mostly of the Ramones.

Suzy Is A Headbanger

Here's their newest cover of Suzy Is A Headbanger. This is a 1977 punk song from the Ramones' second album. The Hawkbirds got 10K views on this in 6 days. They are having so much fun together!

I Wanna Be Well

A few months ago, The Hawkbirds covered I Wanna Be Well by the Ramones from their third album. This one is slower (not slow, just slower than many Ramones tunes) and easier for mom to play because Johnny Ramone only downstrokes his guitar, no strumming. So on the fast songs it is really hard to keep up with the beat when you're only using half the hand motion to actually strum the strings!

My Activity

today was low at just over 6K. I had doctor visits in the morning and afternoon. But I did get out at night for my daily nightly stroll around town. Tonight it was chilly again; it was in the mid 40s Fahrenheit! Not only that, but it was windy. The ski jacket with hood up kept me warm. I didn't go very far, just a basic walk this time. The temps are climbing the next few days so I hope to hike longer.
