I can't say for sure, one way or another, if this anti aging research will lead to any benefits in the future. I think it was once said that people will never fly, so why try to build airplanes. Or people will never walk on the moon, etc. I think a lot of extremely rich people fund this kind of research because right now, all their money can not buy them another minute at the end of their life. But if they choose to spend money on such research, which at least generates some good paying jobs for some people, then maybe we'll all be able to extend our lives or at least live without pain and diminished ability to care for ourselves when we get old.
