So I finally bought a new phone because the endless updates on my trusty old Xiaomi 9 had left it constantly locking up and spluttering to start.
As you can tell from my previous choice, I'm not a buyer of top of the range phones. We don't have the big discounts on handsets with a contract here so it's a cash purchase and to be honest, I couldn't justify blowing a fortune on a device I'm genuinely never going to use to it's full potential.
The old days were different as I'd have the latest greatest toy I could have and the contracts were just 12 months but I'm an older and wiser soul these days.
So what did you buy?
Well, it was a toss up between the Samsung A54 5g and A34 5g and I dropped on the side of the not insignificant £80 quid cheaper model. The differences come in a slightly poorer display and camera and a plastic back instead of metal but the processor and memory are the same as the A54 and so far, I'm very happy I went back to the Koreans. Xiaomi were pissing me off with ads and dropping apps onto the phone I didn't ask for.
The camera, if I'm being honest, is not the vast improvement I hoped it would be so far, but I haven't had much chance to push it so we'll see over the next few weeks. Another niggle is that I can only have two out of three combinations of sim cards and SD card where before I had two sims and an SD.
So, this is one of the first pictures I took, of palm trees next to the house. It reminded me of the opening credits to Miami Vice or Hawaii 5-0.
I also did over 9000 steps...
A shrewd purchase, I think but I'm sure a collective groan will go up when I start posting the new batch of sunset/sunrise on the boat pics ;-)
Have a great week steppers!
