Suddenly, all the lights went off along with fans, aircons and everything else that runs on that invisible miracle.
Its not unknown to have power cuts, but usually they're announced in advance or due to a transformer going bang during a rainstorm, but the weather outside was hot and sunny.
A quick look at the fuse box showed me the master fuse had tripped and after working out which circuit was doing the tripping, went to check each socket on the ground floor ring main.
It was then I saw the tail! Some idiot baby gecko had decided to try and explore the socket!
The tail came out easily, the rest of gecko was ash, and after a quick cleanup, all was well...and cool once more.
RIP Gecko. Forever living in electric dreams.
