My Actifit Report Card: January 31 2023

in Actifit2 years ago

I played a couple of short nine-hole practice disc golf rounds today. I was just using three putter discs and trying to learn the Glitch disc better. I still can't throw it right over long distances and it turns into a roller if I try to throw it hard.

There must be some secret to throwing putters hard that I have yet to master. If they are stable I can throw them hard though. The Glitch disc is so light that I'm having some issues when I try to power up on it too much. It flies great when I get it right though. Right now I'm using it for a utility disc for throws where I want to get under something and glide for some distance or turn a throw to the right on a shorter approach.

It has been a bit cold over the last couple of days. There was a bit of snow in the morning but it did not amount to much and has mostly melted already.

A close-up of one of the swans:

The swans:

This time of year the swans like to pass through the valley looking for potatoes and items left over in the farm fields.

Nature with natural things makes best scenery which makes our environment cherishable nice clicks man

There are a lot of birds and natural scenery around where I live. It is nice to see when you are out shopping.

The swans that you have there look different from ours. Although both have the same white feathers, the one that I noticed right away is the black beak and feet, I have never seen anything like that in our country.

Ours have orange beak and light yellow feet, it's interesting how they developed different colors on some parts of their body but without any difference in function.

There are a lot of local differences for sure. Mushrooms can vary a lot too from region to region. Some are poisonous in places where they are edible in others. It is fascinating to me to see all the regional differences.

Yeah, I agree on how fascinating the regional differences could be.

I actualy searched about the variety of Swans and I'm amazed what I found; there's actually a Black Swan while there is another type that looks like a duck. I believe the differences happen because of the environment and the kind of diet that they consume.

Same goes to another animal species like Flamingo, the ones that are colored pink is because of the specific type of algae that they consume in wetlands. It's the kind of algae that has high concentration of beta-carotine. This fact could be related to how swans developed different kind of features compares to other swans found in other region. It's indeed fascinating :)

unique bird, it seems the meat is very delicious when cooked. @lightsplasher

These birds were hunted almost to extinction around here. It is nice to see them recovering a bit. I think they are still limited a lot in population and so are still protected from hunting as far as I know.

oh. This means that it must be protected from its extinction phase.

I'm sure with enough practice you will master the Glitch Disk throwing, because you already have the basics, is it already snowing there now?
In my area, geese are a type of duck that children are most afraid of. Because I think we pass a group of geese, they will chase us. Are geese there like that too?

There was not much snow around here this year so far and it melted right away. I doubt we will get much more but you never know. With that said, I'm more used to winters in snowy regions.

These are big birds with long necks and I believe they are Trumpeter Swans. (The birds in the pictures above.)

The Snow Geese are around the area this time of year too. I've noticed in Colorado that geese can be aggressive if they are in cranky moods and you get too close to them. I've not run across any aggressive geese around here but there is more room to spread out and not much reason to get close to them.

happy golfing and you trying out some three disc putters in today's practice disc golf it must have been a lot of fun, and the white swan looks so pretty and so well shot that it looks cool.

Thank you. It is nice to get out every day if I can.

You'll make it friend @lightsplasher , you have the necessary skill for it, you evidenced it today by playing a couple of short rounds of nine-hole practice disc golf, with only three putter discs, you have advanced and tried to better learn the Glitch Disc, he will soon throw it correctly over long distances, his ability will allow him to throw putters with force. I wish him much success and learning in such a distinguished game. Thanks for your visits.

Thank you. It is always a learning experience for me that keeps my happy and doing things. I think it is helpful to find things that interest you as you grow older.
