I went on a disc golf disc recovery mission today. I found the Mantra disc that I lost yesterday fairly easily. It had traveled forward of where we were looking for it yesterday and was hidden in the underbrush.
Next time, I'm going to throw something with a bit less of a kick when I'm trying to hit a tight gap in the woods. Maybe a flippy midrange or putter disc would have been better.
I didn't want to make any of my precious main control drivers or throwing putters more understable, so I picked the Mantra disc. It is already extra flippy, so I figured that a bit more extra flippness should be fine. (Hitting a tree full force makes any disc a bit more flippy or understable.)
Nothing does great when you hit almost the first available tree on a tight line, but both plastics I have tried the Mantra disc in have kicked a long way when they hit something at full force. Maybe it's the fact that the discs were max wieght that added to the issue. I like the disc, but I lost the first one I had from a really bad kick off a tree in a similar situation.
I tried a bit of easy throwing this morning, too. My arm feels fine on a backhand but is just a bit tender on a forehand throw. I think it was good not to do too much today.

Very nice spotting! Dark blue-green blends into the shadows and is hard to spot hidden under the leaves. Pink or orange discs are easier depending on the lighting.

We didn't find the Mantra disc in the photo because it was so far away, but it looks like the flowers in the bushes are very beautiful @lightsplasher 😁
