The Annual Lunar New Year "Run" has finished! From driving for hours to experimenting new places and trying new foods, meeting up old friends, and reconnecting with relatives, this has been one of the most stretched out unplanned visit with my elderly this round
Due to lack of time and planning, I ended up overpaid a lodging premise for 2 nights, but never in my life have I experienced private garage for $68 USD a night
At least my poor car will have peace and safety night rest instead of exposed to the rain, also, I don't have to worry to walk far and leave anything less important and non rotting items in the car trunk / boot and just grab it when needed.
(This will probably be my lifetime's experience having a personal garage lodging experience, haha, but who knows?)
Visiting the 100 year old market back in my home town is always a joy, and I am glad that life goes on and there are still a lot of things to discover.
Like this new graphene textile belt (a long with other movement aided products like knee pads for mom) that was interesting enough to find out its function and also with a good price instead of scammed by online fake (not even inferior) products for a reasonable price.
At least mom is happy with less pain on the knee pads, and the swelling is lesser. I have less back pain wearing that enduring 6 hours traffic jam.
However, things weren't all rosy when we went back to check on the old family home, where it just survived another flood again, and the ceiling was once again destroyed by stray cats.

Good thing that there's no dead cat this time. What a relief!
The culprit was that the wood panel was destroyed somehow that created an opening big enough for cats to come and go as they please.
To fix it, it requires a lot of expenses, and right now I am still far from having any capital to repair it, not to mention to lease it out or even to clean it well enough for sale.
One baby step at a time. Settle the highest interest debts first, then repair.
Most important is that the cousins get to see each other and catch up, as time is catching up and no one knows if this is the last time we meet and chat again.
Family is precious when there is still time to rekindle
