The Institute of Sports Medicine informed on Thursday about the condition of Cuban diver Luis Gustavo Cañabate Álvarez, who suffered a fall in the early hours of Saturday, November 12 at the Giraldo Córdova Cardín High Performance Athletes Training College.
Cañabate Álvarez, 19, remains conscious, oriented and feverish, according to the latest report from the Hermanos Ameijeiras hospital.
He has minor lower abdominal pain due to a broken pelvis, and is moving in bed.
He has been discharged by the neurosurgery and general surgery teams.
Surveillance continues for the specialties of orthopedics, maxillofacial surgery and cardiology.
The young diver remains in the intensive care unit of the Ameijeiras. It is predicted that this Friday a mandibular fracture that he presents will be operated on.
