Heya Hiva シ
Ready or not, here I come..
-> from my head promptly leaving my pillow, in an effort to cleanup the local wetlands trail earlier than usual. You'll never guess what I found! Stay tuned to find out!
Adventure afoot!
But first, I thought I'd highlight that not every piece of rubbish which I collect is always featured. Sometimes, a particular photo series is either inadequate and/or incomplete. The thumbnail today highlights the difference. This large plastic bottle and nearby broken glass were certainly worthy of mention. Alas, I discovered afterwards that there was no suitable photograph depicting the scene once cleaned up. Oh well.. at least it served a purpose after all.

One of the wildest finds thus far, has to be this pillow - which was located near the entrance of the 'Brigantine River Trail'! It was far too large to fit in my carrier, so I first had to walk it over to the municipal bin - before returning to my cleanup activities.

The next item of trash recovered highlights two important points. First, you need to have have a stomach of steel.. the orange liquid inside looked highly suspect! Second, we need to pick our battles. I chose to tackle the potentially dodgy thing, leaving the cigarette butts to be recovered on a subsequent pass.

This large paper carrier appears to have been part of some sort of Christmas hamper. It's surely important to do good for those less fortunate. It's a pity though, when a few of those less fortunate (for whatever reason), have a blatant disregard for the environment.

This weathered litter broke into smaller fragments upon its extraction. The remaining bits & pieces therefore had to be carefully picked out of the ground. The end result was worth it!

Next up was the remnants of what appears to have been some 'wet wipes'. What you can't see from the photo is.. how I had to get on my hands and knees, and stretch my arm as far as it would go - in order to reach it. I had some shrub branches poking my face during the retrieval as well!

When an item is as environmentally worn as this one, it's hard to tell from whence it came. I'm thinking it was some sort of fast food paper packaging.

One of the hardest pickups for the day, was this debris field - located well within some dense foliage.

As colourful as this wrapper may be, it certainly didn't enhance the natural beauty of the scene.

It's a real pity that one or more inconciderate individuals seems to frequent these parts with booze.. yet another empty bottle of alcohol discarded.

The sponge cake treat to which this wrapper belonged used to be a childhood favourite of mine. That said, its remnants certainly doesn't belong anywhere as litter.

These broken fragments of glass highlight the importance of collecting the whole as soon as possible. Interesting how the three fragments were resting in perfect formation - like pieces of a puzzle.

All the rubbish collected was emptied into a nearby municipal bin. Some curious finds for the day allowed for a sense of adventure. All in all, a great success!
Till next time,

In the distance of that pillow, the blue thing under the shrubs, what is that? A street sign?
My weirdest find so far is one of those crisper drawers at the bottom of a refrigerator. Just the drawer, though, in excellent condition by the way. No matching refrigerator nor contents in the drawer, just a big huge empty plastic refrigerator compartment in the middle of the forest.
I didn't snap a picture.
Nah.. that's a trail sign (supposed to be there). It is for the "Brigantine River Trail".. the one that I'm still too scared to brave very far. I'm kinda thinking on the right day, I'll try and scout out some more of that turf. Today isn't the right day for that, though. The wind is too strong, so you can't hear anyone moving through the bushes.
That's random.. a refrigerator drawer - the things we find! I was missing one a while back come to think bout it (well.. it broke). Technically speaking, it was the freezer drawer tho haha. Next time, snap a pic my good friend :)
