Marathon training week 5: Long run - Cape Town

in Actifitlast year

Navigating the 16-week marathon training has become routine, and in the middle of week 5, I see the upcoming challenges. Today's run is a "short" 1.5 hours, but that will soon change with longer runs on the horizon. With summer break here, early morning runs are in my future.

As a teacher, having a long summer break is great. Looking back at 2023, a year with many moments, I feel like I've lost a bit of myself. Running has been my solace, offering purpose and calming my anxiety. But this year, I need something more. Amidst the sound of my feet hitting the ground, I'm seeking deeper clarity, a rofound understanding to find meaning again. Marathon training is not just a routine for my body; it's a journey for my soul. As I tie my running shoes, I'm on a quest for renewal, hoping that each step will guide me back to myself in the vast embrace of summer.

That is the nice thing of running, you can let the mind go and think or even dream about anything, it is just you and the road.
