As you know, I was at work yesterday, and as most of the people who read my posts know, I work as a firefighter in the city of Burgas.
Late last night, around 1 am, we received a signal about burning dry grass in the area Izvorishte. When we arrived there, we realized that a lot of land was on fire, gardens with fruit trees, summer cottages and meadows were on fire. The wind was quite strong. For the first time in my life, I saw such a strong wind. Because of the strong wind, the fire was moving very quickly and more firefighters had to come with fire trucks.
We had to put out the fire for about 10 hours. There were about 12 fire trucks on the ground, and the fire, according to final accounts, spread over an area of about 36 thousand acres.
After a hard and tiring night for all colleagues and residents in these cottage areas, the fire was extinguished. We all came home very tired and exhausted, but we were all alive and healthy, which is the most important thing.
