The morning air bit with a sharp chill, minus two degrees, but staying in motion, bundled in gloves and my cosy cashmere beanie, kept the cold at bay. The day began with a loop around the island, followed by a quick grocery run to stock up on essentials. By midday, the world outside had turned dreary and wet, a gray drizzle painting the streets. I spent the rest of the day cocooned in the cozy warmth of home, free from obligations. On the walk, just before daylight rose across the island, I captured this moment: the brightly and colorfully lit center spiral ramp of the bridge in the northern part of the island glowing like a beacon against the almost gone blue of twilight.
