The morning greeted us with an unwelcome slap of wet, winter air, a sharp contrast to yesterday's frost. Overnight, the temperature leapt eight degrees, leaving the remnants of snow and ice to melt into slushy puddles, aided by a relentless drizzle. By dawn, everything felt damp, a perfect recipe for colds and grumpy beginnings. And just like that, the first workday of the year arrived, draped in gray skies and rain-soaked streets. Thankfully, it wasn’t an energy-sapping marathon, just a laid-back conference with more chatter than action. Between the dull buzz of talks, I found time to capture a sleek, technical macro shot that felt like a small win in an otherwise slow day. My steps piled up not in the venue, but along the walk there and back, plus the usual to-and-fro during setup. It was one of those days where even the mundane carried a certain rhythm, a soggy start, steady pace, and the quiet satisfaction of crossing off the first show day.
