Winter has us in its grip, the wind whipping through the streets, making the cold even more biting. I decided to take a long walk through the Palace Gardens, passing through the sluice land where I couldn’t resist stopping for some deep breathing by the rushing weir. Along the way, I spotted plenty of birds, but it was a tree that truly caught my eye. Its presence felt deliberate, like it might be a home for some creature. I wondered why the gardeners hadn’t removed it yet, maybe it‘s a shelter for a beaver or some other animal? When I got home, a hot cup of coffee was the perfect remedy to warm me from the inside out.
Der Winter hat uns fest im Griff, der Wind peitschte durch die Straßen und machte die Kälte noch unangenehmer. Ich machte einen langen Morningwalk durch die Palace Gardens, auch durchs Schleusenland, wo ich nicht widerstehen konnte, für ein paar Atemübungen am rauschenden Schleusenwehr zu stoppen. Auf dem Weg traf ich wieder viele Vögel, doch ein bestimmter Baum zog meine Aufmerksamkeit besonders auf sich. Seine Präsenz wirkte wie ein Zuhause für ein Tier. Ich fragte mich, warum die Gärtner ihn noch nicht entfernt hatten, vielleicht war er Unterschlupf für einen Biber oder ein anderes Tier? Zuhause angekommen, war ein heißer Kaffee genau das Richtige, um mich von innen zu wärmen.
