I've had the Actifit app for a couple of weeks now but it took me a little bit of thinkering with the settings to finally get it to work properly and track my steps accurately.
At first I tried to enable the "aggressive background tracking" option in the settings but the amount of steps I wouldn't get didn't seem to match with my actual activity; after granting all the additional permits to the app there was a major improvement to the accuracy of the tracking.
Today the planets aligned and with the new settings enabled I headed out and made it my priority to cover some ground.
This is a photo I took during my walk of the biggest park in my hometown in Italy.
Some of the more urban areas of the city weren't exactly too refreshing to traverse on foot but the area around the park was definetely very idillic.
I devoted more than two hours to walking around the city and the whole session netted me around 16k steps. Now I'm curious to see how much I will earn through my report card.
Walking is an activity that boosts fitness, health and longevity and yet on most days I neglect it.
Now that I know of Actifit I will try to make it a habit to work a certain amount each day, especially now that it's summer.
I've heard of Actifit because of the Splinterlands partnership and I would encourage other players from this game to check out the project and the community for themselves.
All players will receive a boost to their Actifit earnings based on the amount and quality of cards they own. If they have a decent level of stake into the game it shouldn't be too hard to reach the tresholds required so it's an interesting opportunity!
To earn from Actifit you need to download the app and make a post after having covered a certain distance by walking so it's relatively seamless to get started.
Once the walking is over you can finally make a post and you will be rewarded for your activity as long as you have at least 5000 AFIT tokens in your hive engine wallet.
In a similar way, I would encourage the Actifit community to check out Splinterlands and figure out for themselves if it's a project they might be interested in.
