Great question an thank you for the kind words! There are 4 cars scattered over about 100 feet of square space. When I first saw them I was convinced that there used to be a house nearby. These are about 2 miles from the nearest road and completely locked in the woods at this point. I have no idea where the road that even got them there would have been.
It took me nearly a year to find the remains of the house but sure enough there it was! The walls are really only visible during the winter when all the undergrowth dies back. The photo with the rock walls is actually the walls or foundation of the old house. I spent about 4 hours last year trying to dig through local records to see what happened to the property to no avail. Going back actually rekindled my desire to find out what happened. Luckily, I have a new job with a much better work life balance so maybe I'll figure it out soon. I really wish I had a metal detector 🤓🤠
There is also what looks to be an underground cellar about 200 feet from the house
If you walk past the cars here and keep going straight you will come across the foundations of the house.
During the summer though this whole area is covered in at least 1-2 feet of undergrowth
These pictures are of the same 2 cars you see the dog standing next to in the original post 😆
You can see why the house is hard to find unless you know where it is or its winter time 🙃
If you are interested I can try and find out more about the cars. Its always a ton of fun hiking out there, I'm sure there is something stamped somewhere that could identify them. I'm sure I'll be putting up more photos of the area soon though I head by there at least once a month 🤠
That sounds so interesting, I always enjoy digging into past history! Let me know if you find any more about the house. The cellar might be a storehouse of history as well!🤗
