Travel Day arriving Mae Sai, a border town in Thailand
Dear friends,
Yesterday, I travelled from Keng Tung (Kyaing Tong) to Tachileik and then to Mae Sai, which is Thailand Northmost border town. The road from Keng Tung to Tachileik was bad so it took about 6 hours to get to the Thailand Myanmar border. After making temoporary passport and I was able to get 7 days visa from Thailand.
On the way, where we had lunch, I had a chance to see various fried insects sold at the restaurant mall. Those are not common in my region in Southern Shan State although I know there are such things. And I never dared to taste them.
Then, I arrived at the hotel in Mae Sai. It is Piyaporn Pavillion Hotel and I had to pay 900 baht per night. I think I will stay here for three nights. It is a huge hotel with clean and wide rooms.
Then, after dinner, I walked to the skywalk place which is about 10 minutes walk from the hotel. It is a monastery place on a hill and the skywalk was built from the top of the hill towards the town. I paid 30 bahts to ride a car from the foot of the hill to get to the top and another 30 bahts for skywalk entrance. There was a beautiful night view from there. I uploaded a video taken on the skywalk along with photos. I didn't look down much so it was alright to walk on the glass panels.
Then,I arrived back at the hotel, I meditated for one hour.
Those are some of the activities for yesterday.
