I just arrived here at Santa Cruz, CA to live in my Mobile Art Studio [Van].
There is a short walk down a place called Opal Cliffs, which leads to a beach.
Yesterday, I picked up a swimsuit, and some polyester top at a thrift store.
The water is cool, but still kind of warm. It's a bit of a shock, and ended up being really useful for just getting my body wet. I will eventually try to move more into the water for some mild swimming. The grasses and kelp at the bottom feel like
I think I'll be using the ocean as a shower, more or less.
To help me wake up for the day, I did a bit of stretching, some Qi Gong.
.:.
.:.
I will try documenting my morning stretches each day, so that I am motivated to do a little bit more each time. Try swimming deeper in the water, or do a full Qi Gong Set, or try to do a Yoga Set, or maybe some official Tai Chi -- maybe some planks, or sit ups.
I feel relaxed, and I'd like to take advantage of this resource while I'm here, which ought to be between now and December, baring any major difficulties with my car camping and working routine.
I haven't gotten to the beach this year. I feel a need to go jump into the ocean. I'm glad you got a chance to. Thanks for sharing.
Sure. Thanks for the comment. I went again today, though I had been avoiding it for a few days. The water is cold, but once I got my chest and balls wet, it's sort of like "all of the sensitive shivering is done, might as well submerge"
I don't know why I'm kind of a baby about that stuff, cause it feels great afterward.
And the kids are all out there on their boogie boards or paddle boards or surf boards or whatever.
A lot of them wear wetsuits. It's pretty common around here.
Not sure how close or far away you are from the beach, but I hope you can take a day off and go make it happen.
Cheers.
What a life! This looks so dang peaceful. Thanks for sharing <3
Yea, Actfit is pretty cool. It's like a way to incentivize myself to do a little bit more each time, -- 'gotta do my actfit post' -- Might be a cool habit to get into.
Ocean’s energy is good. I used to do Surf in the ocean and I remember the good energy transformation from the ocean to my soul
Yea, I'm feeling that a bit this morning, like a relaxed weight.
Will try to think more about ocean to soul tomorrow in the water. Maybe try to float a bit.

Hi there Kyle,
Nice to see an update from you and interesting that it's a video this time
The part around 7:30, where you walk out of the water in the direction of the camera reminds me of a short film I made, back in 2010/ 11, called Zeespiegel.
I actually wrote a couple of posts on that, years ago. Here's a link, if you got time to spare / are interested in reading and seeing more:
https://peakd.com/filmmaking/@vincentnijman/how-to-not-make-a-movie-part-4-the-making-of-and-screening-of-zeespiegel-2011
I wish you all the best and hope that this change of place and perspective will bring you many good things.
Fica bem/ Take care,
Vincent
@riverflows you might like this one ;<)
That's a very intense post Vincent.
A lot of information there. I scanned down and saw the beach scene you are referring to, they look peaceful and similar, though I suspect that your film has some more emotional content. I see faces of determination and close up shots like what might be action / drama.
I wouldn't try to make my own film at this point, but it might be interesting to try and make a rough film to use as a foundation for a graphic novel.
Storyboard Reference material type thing.
I've thought about doing that with landscapes for my next project.
I would need to develop relationships with sex workers or sex friends, or exhibitionists to make a short film for a graphic novel -- at which point, I would basically be a pornographer.
Not too bad, Nice couples fucking by the ocean. Sounds peaceful / worth watching.
That's the cool thing about graphic novels, I can just paint the scenes I'm looking for. Of course, reference helps.
What a beautiful view, I miss the beach so much this summer!
Hey Julia.
Just listened to the Crim cast about the launched NFTs on HIVE. Cool thing to discover. I've been doing my own thing, so it had escaped my notice until now.
Was neat to hear you do your contributions to the conversation.
I'd be interested in seeing the water bodies around where you are at. I thought I tried stalking your town once on google maps, and saw that there is a significant park, as well as some rivers or lakes that go through town.
Talk to you later.
It's still in alpha but coming along nicely, when you want to rejoin discord it's here, we added a NSFW spoiler option for NFTs so that'll be good for you.
RE water, Nova Scotia has amazing beaches! Theres not much comparable up here, there are nice rivers and lakes but no beaches in close proximity :/
Thanks for the NSFW option.
I'm still figuring out the solar panels for my van, and doing the Alice Project, so I'm a bit slow over here, but it will be alright.
I see about the beaches.
Yea, it's nice.
I've been walking around and parking near the rich neighborhoods near the water.
It's astonishing. People get money and then live in nice houses. Saw this interesting couple. Riding their bikes with surf boards attached to the bikes, from their house a few blocks from beach access, about one block from the coast.
They looked like poor surfers or something on their old bikes, but their house is probably around 1-2 mil or something. I'm not sure what propertiess on the coast of Santa Cruz / Capitola go for.
Premium. I'd guess.
Talk to you in a bit.
