The new year is almost upon us and I’m left reflecting on a very interesting 2022 that brought a lot of change for me. I usually try to have a New Year’s resolution, but I’m not sure how effective they’ve been in motivating me to make those changes. I always have the usual goal of losing weight, exercising more, and just generally being more healthy.
But, this coming year I don’t really have any specific motivations for any resolutions. Yes, I’d like to lose weight. Yes, I’d like to feel more productive. Yes, I’d like to succeed in my new grad school program. Yes, I’d like to find the motivation to pick up some hobbies or read more. It’s strange, I just don’t have the motivation for a lot of these things. Since the Covid-19 pandemic, it takes all my energy just to get through the day to day basics! Perhaps that’s just me hitting middle age.
Taking things one day at a time seems to be the way I am handling everything these days, so let’s start with a goal of hitting the Actifit minimum step goal each day. 5000 steps, every day.
Cheers to you all and happy new year!

Not a bad thing to take it easy and enjoy life without stressing over all these goals or resolutions sometimes. Happy 2023!
