Our hybrid Solar off-grid home has been running “On- Grid” for the last Month.
We have been waiting for our special order of deep cycle batteries to come in at our local Costco!😇
Monday Liz got the call…………..
“Mrs Silvertop, your order of twelve deep cycle batteries has arrived, that’s one of the biggest battery sales I have ever done!”😊
That’s about the time the weatherman was calling for an “atmospheric river”!😅

LOTS, and LOTS of rain……. and then MORE rain Lol!🤣
I really didn’t want to load up these batteries in the rain……I procrastinated!😇
Today after Church, the Sun came out!😎
“Silvertop are we going to pick up the batteries, more rain is coming tomorrow!”🥰
I scrambled to quickly finish some Crypto trading that I planned for the end of the Month, and then we headed to Costco!
The skies looked nice……..on the way……
After loading up these twelve, 67 pound each, lead acid batteries in the back of my truck, the skies were a bit darker!
We stopped at Starbucks on the way home, and that’s when I noticed black clouds rolling in!😮
We pulled into the drive, and I quickly unloaded the batteries out of the truck and placed them the garage, till I can swap out the old!😇
That’s when it started…….
First light, then heavy rain, with hail, and thunder and lightning!😅
“Liz, it looks like it was a good call to run to Costco earlier today, maybe we should have checked to see if they sell boats Lol!”🤣

Deep Cycle batteries and they're not for your golf carts.
Would you swap them for those new fangeled silver oxide-zinc batteries that are up and coming. Faster recharge, 10X energy storage density, easier to manufacture etc, etc. IF they work for EVs as well as for pure household storage.
The dollar per kilowatt is the cheapest with golf cart batteries..
The best right now would be to go with a Tesla power wall, my neighbor has a brand new set up....
But this requires thousands of dollars, replacing all my computers and battery chargers, so for the moment I will stick with deep cycle lead acid they are very forgiving and last for years!😇😀
I hope you aren't using you life vests today! Those batteries have got to be heavy, good way to get a sore back! Getting back off the grid will feel great though, electricity isn't cheap. At least you got it out of the way, that always feels good!
