I sound like a broken record at this point, but I'd just remind you guys of my fitness journey again and again. It was a personal resolution for me at the begining of the year to take my health bit more seriously. I made lots of changes to my diet, but the best part for me was registering for a gym late January. I've been active ever since. Yesterday, I made incredible progress and I was delighted with everything. How I felt, and the progress I've made, so I decided to share with you guys.
Mental Health and exercising
If there is anything you'd have seen in the internet, it's that, exercising and going to the gym would boost your mental health, yadi yadi ya. All that BS. Don't get me wrong, exercising and working out are great for your mental health, but there's a lot more that goes into it than just that, and take it from me because I've been there. Typically, you'd hear people say that your mental health is inside. You need to put your mind in order, your brain, etc. but in reality, your mental health is everything around you. You having a good mental health is contingent to having everything around you in perfect harmony. I.e, when everything is at its proper place. Your relationships, your health, your career, etc. that's really what mental health is all about. it's all external, not some magical internal thing. Hence, why exercising has a significant impact on your health. Both mental and physical.
Progress
As it is with life, you have to take small significant steps until your develop and eventually achieve you goal. Everyday, Everytime you make a small effort you get better, albeit a little bit. Earlier this week I decided it was time to progressively overload. I usually benched 50kg around 110lbs; with 8-10 reps per set. Before then I was benching way lower. Last Tuesday I decided to add an extra ten and push myself, moderately of course. I'm usually always alone at the gym, so I try not to max out since I have no spotter. I needed one for this challenge, and luckily the instructor was around to help. I struggled, and could only complete three reps. I felt disappointed but not discouraged. Yesterday, I was alone and decided it was time to try again. Incredibly, I was able to comfortably do 5 reps for 5 sets and I didn't break too many sweat 😅. I felt amazing. I had noticeably gained more strength and it felt good. As is life, it's a gradual process.
Dieting
If you want to lose weight, gain muscle, or what ever, dieting plays a 70% role, maybe even more. Proteins, grains, fiber and a bit of carbs are really important for muscle repair. I've made all this life changes since the start of the year and it has been an incredible year for me filled with ups and downs.
Remember, you can do anything you set your mind to. It takes time, effort, sacrifice and a strong will. This post feels really random, with random bits of information, haha. But I guess I was able to share a life update with y'all. Thank you for reading. Cheers.
I love people who doesn't ignore their health status and that of those around them. That's great.
Am also glad that you have noticed rapid changes in your health as well ever since you started this regular exercise.
Keep it up. Base on its mental health, it's like I too need to register too.
